४३ राष्ट्रैः युक्तः अयं खण्डः ४४,३९१,१६३ चतुरस्रकिलोमीटर्मितेन विस्तारेण युक्तः अस्ति । अस्य खण्डस्य भूयान् भागः उत्तरगोलार्धे दृश्यते । इण्डोनेशियादेशस्य भागार्धमात्रं दक्षिणगोलार्धे दृश्यते । दक्षिणस्य १०<sup>०</sup> तः उत्तरस्य ८०<sup>०</sup> अक्षांशयोः मध्ये, पूर्वगोलार्धस्य २५<sup>०</sup> - १९०<sup>०</sup> रेखांशयोः मध्ये अयं खण्डः विद्यते ।
