WikiConference India 2020 team is happy to inform you that the [[m:Grants:Conference/WikiConference India 2020|Conference & Event Grant proposal for WikiConference India 2020]] has been submitted to the Wikimedia Foundation. This is to notify community members that for the last two weeks we have opened the proposal for community review, according to the [[m:Grants:Conference|timeline]], post notifying on Indian Wikimedia community mailing list. After receiving feedback from several community members, certain aspects of the proposal and the budget have been changed. However, community members can still continue engage on the talk page, for any suggestions/questions/comments. सुवर्ण तारा (बार्नस्टार) प्रदाय हेतु बहव धन्यवादाः। मम संस्कृते अगाध अनुराग अपितु वाक्य-व्यवहारः सम्यकज्ञानं नास्ति। संस्कृत विकिपीडिया बर्धनाय संस्कृत विकिपीडिया समुदायस्य सहाय सर्वदा ग्राह्य। Please forgive me, I cannot express well in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the mother language of many of our languages spoken in Nepal. Therefore there is a very high respect towards the language. There are many scholars among them some are contributing in the Sanskrit Wikipedia. There was a thing recurringly come on my top that if we would organize outreach programs in places focusing to people with affliction to Sanskrit Language, we could enhance the willingness as well as their practical skills. There are many campuses under Nepal Sanskrit University in Nepal. There are also some organizations that are working for language and culture which may be interested to support us in the noble endeavor of promoting contribution and participation in Sanskrit Wikipedia. I have been editing Wikipedia since 2004 and have conducted various outreach programs focusing upon various language including Nepali, English, Awadhi, Newari, Maithili Wikipedia. However this was the first one for Sanskrit which filled my long awaited dream. Although, we could not do much. We could have real time editing tutorial class, follow-up sessions and Sanskrit Edit-a-Thon which we can organize very soon if the Sanskrit community supports us. For now, I want the community support for mentoring new editors. Hope to keep in touch.
