नमस्ते महीत्गर्, I am not an expert in sanskrit, actcually I know only thr basicd. Eventhough, as far as my knowledge, sanskrit words have meaning some what different from that they have in their common usage in hindi, marathi, gujarati etc. For example विज्ञान in sanskrit means 'wisdom' or 'special knowledge' while the same word means 'science' in hindi. But if we make a compromise for hindi, we will have to suffer a lot in other parts of the sanskrit encyclopedia. There are much more citations - like अन्तरिक्ष in hindi means space, but in sanskrit it means atmosphere. And for science, the common usage in sanskrit is शास्त्रम्, not विज्ञान. And please remember that here we are creating a sanskrit encyclopedia, not a hindi/marathi/bangali one. विश्वकोश: is a fare translation for encyclopedia. But the word doesn't convey the entire meaning of an encyclopedia. विश्व means 'World' and कोश means 'Cell' or Collection. But विज्ञानकोश: is a better word for encyclopedia as it means collection of wisdom / knowledge. And please remember, the spoken sanskrit dictionary is also like wikipedia. any one can edit it. As an Administrator, you are allowed into #wikimedia-admin, the cross-wiki coordination channel for Wikimedia administrators. Any member of the channel can invite you in temporarily, but you need an invite exemption from a channel operator to get in whenever you want. Please come to #wikimedia and ask for an invite.

महोदय, Though I have started translation, but I want to know whether all Mediawiki: namespace messages are used in a wikipedia of any language or only some of them? If only some of them then we can focus on them.

Dear Mahitgar ji, Is there any way to direct one message's content to the value of the other, because if it is possible then we can make our future work easier. e.g. word 'hide' is used in many different messages if we somehow make others eqaul to one message's value, then in future if we want to change the sanskrit equivalent of 'hide', we need not hunt for all such words and change them, instead we can change that single message to which all other are directed. - Thanks. -नमस्कारः -Hemant wikikosh १३:१८, २० ज्येष्ठाषाढके २००९ (UTC)

With regard to your offer to me to apply for adminship. I want to say that, right now I am unable to take up this responsibility, because of continuous personal work. But I can assure you that if you take the permanent adminship, I will try to help you in linguistic part fully.
While I will have to learn all the procedures dedicating much time, I feel you can run the wikipedia with more regularity and with due procedures as you are already working on Marathi and Sanskrit wikipedia with privileges.
If you consider yourself unsuited because of linguistic shortcomings, then I want to say that, for routine works like deletion of undesired pages, uploading image for the day, welcoming a new member etc., not much sanskrit knowledge is needed. And wherever there is a need to write standard Sanskrit message or text, you simply post me it in English, either on my योजकसंभाषणं or e-mail id and I will translate it for you. This will also help you improve your Sanskrit abilities. And for non-standard messages you can also use English, Hindi or even "non-standard" Sanskrit, in fact I would encourage the last one, because it will result in improviing the vocabulary.
Even I can provide my thoughts to develop a collective vision for the Sanskrit wikipedia, and some ideas to attract Sanskrit scholars and students on Sanskrit wikipedia, hoping those would work. Also I can help to develop a standard so that whatever set of articles are there on this small wikipedia, those are self-sufficient and not unbalanced in terms of their coverage. i.e. we can first decide some particular areas in which there should be sufficient information on sa-wikipedia. We can also add usages of important day to day Sanskrit words in the form of a complete page, for reference of new-comers, and advertise that page on the Main page. But I am not in a position to become an administrator right now. Sorry for that.

Some ideas for Sanskrit wikipedia सम्पादयतु
check out Old English Wikipedia. Both sanskrit and old english are not spoken languages but what they're doing on their site is interesting, they allow transition and help introduction pages to better orient people to the layout of their site. anyhow, i'd love to know how i can help. --ज्ञान ११:४६, २१ मेय् २०१० (UTC)
Writing Standards for Wikipedia Sanskrit सम्पादयतु
Why don't we create a DOs and DONOTs in English for writing standards here. For example:
- Don't use English Numerals(0123456789) , use Devanagari Numerals(०१२३४५६७८९).
- Don't use S for as avagraha, instead use ऽ
- Don't use pipe | as purna viram instead use ।
- Do give a space before and after । and ॥ (This can/should be discussed.)
- Don't replace ङ् with an ं in the middle of word as in Hindi, use like this शङ्कर not शंकर.
- Don't replace ञ् with an ं in the middle of word as in Hindi, use like this पतञ्जलि not पतंजलि.
- Don't replace ण् with an ं in the middle of word as in Hindi, use like this पण्डित not पंडित.
- Don't replace न् with an ं in the middle of word as in Hindi, use like this मन्त्रिः not मंत्रिः.
- Do use म् in last of word or sentence, when the word /sentence terminates like उज्ज्वल अस्मि अहम् not उज्ज्वल अस्मि अहं.
and all other we can come up with.

I prefer article talk pages, article talk pages encourage collaborative culture and individual sandboxes tend to kill collaborative culture. (As far as talk page getting lengthy I will be adding show and hide templates so that should not remain a problem. I hope sanskrit wikipedia can help in collaborating improving articles across Indian languages based on info from Sanskrit literature and translations there of.
