The infobox may be added by pasting the template as shown below into an article. All fields are optional and unused parameter names can be left blank or omitted.

Parameter Explanation
name Insert name of the award. Use the common name (typically the name of the article) if multiple names are used. If omitted or blank it defaults to the name of the article.
subheader Insert the consecutive award ceremony for an unlinked rendition for example 27th IPPY Awards which renders in plain text
current_awards If subheader is used, this field is bypassed, if it is not used, insert the article name of the list or page describing the upcoming, current, or just completed annual awards/ceremony, etc. for this year. Omit the wikilinks "[[]]"; formatting is automatic, and an image icon is included
image Insert image name (abc.jpg, xyz.png, 123.gif, etc.)
imagesize Insert image width. Be sure to include "px" after the number, i.e. 200px. If omitted or blank it defaults to 220px.
alt Alt text for image, for visually impaired readers who cannot see it. See WP:ALT.
caption Insert text for caption; rendered below image.
description Insert a very brief, one sentence description of what the prize is awarded for (e.g. "Excellence in film")
sponsor Insert the person, group or organisation that monetarily sponsors the award
date Insert the date of the award ceremony. Use the {{Start date}} template.
location Insert the venue where the award ceremony was held.
country Insert the country of the presenter or where the award is presented
presenter Insert the person, group or organisation that presents the award
host Insert the person(s) who hosted the award ceremony.
preshow_host Insert name of the preshow_host.
acts Insert wikified names of acts scheduled to perform.
reward What kind of reward does it get whether its prize money or medal. eg: Nobel Prize $1.6 million
year Insert the year that it was first awarded
year2 Insert the year that it was last awarded
holder Current holder of the award (if applicable)
website Insert the award's official website. Use {{URL}}.
network Insert the name of the television network which originally aired the award ceremony.
runtime Insert the approximate runtime of the television airing (should not include commercials) in minutes, eg. "44 minutes"
ratings Insert ratings figures for the television airing.
producer Insert show's producer
director Insert show's director

next For creating a chronology. Insert a link to the article of the next edition of the award. Pipe the link to only show the year or edition number, eg. [[52nd Grammy Awards|52nd]]
