'''शिमला''' हिमाचलप्रदेशस्य राजधानी अस्ति ।१८६४तमे वर्षे आंग्लप्रशासनेन शिमलानगरं भारते ब्रिटिशशाशनस्य ग्रीष्मकालीन राजधानी घोषिता। नगरमेतद् लोकप्रियं रमणीयं पर्यटनस्थलमस्ति। शिमलानगरं बहुधा (पर्वतानां साम्राज्ञी)इत्यापि कत्थयते।
पूर्वम् अस्य नगरस्य श्यामला इति नाम आसीत् । आङ्लाध्नां प्रशासनसमये शिम्ला ग्रीष्मकालीना राजधानी आसीत् । इदानीं हिमाचलप्रदेशस्य राजधानी शिम्ला सुन्दरं गिरिधाम इति अतिप्रसिद्धम् अस्ति ।Queen of hills, Jewel of the orient इति च प्रसिद्धम् अस्ति ।
सागरस्तरतः ७२६२ पादोन्नते प्रदेशे शीतलवातावरणे एतन्नगर अस्ति । अत्र बहवः विदेशीयाः आगन्तुम् इच्छन्ति । अत्र [[पैन्]] [[देवदारु]] [[ओक्]] इत्यादिवृक्षाः अतीव सुन्दराः सन्ति । प्रकृतेः सुन्दररुपं दृष्टुम् एतत् स्थलम् अतीव उत्तमम् अस्ति ।
Mall मार्गः वाणिज्यकेन्द्रम् अस्ति । जाकुपर्वतः (८०० पादमितः) , चाडलुक् जलपातः, कुफ्रि, नालदेहरा, चैल, प्रास्टेक् हिल्स् इत्यादिस्थानानि दर्शनीयानि आकर्षकाणि स्थानानि सन्ति । जाकुपर्वततः हिमालयदर्शनम् अतीवानन्ददायकं भवति ।
चाड्लुक् सरोवरे नौकाविहारः काल्पितः अस्ति । कुफ्रिस्थाने हिमक्रीडा प्रसिद्धा अस्ति । ग्रीष्मकाले याक् प्राणिनः उपरि उपविश्य प्रवासं कुर्वन्ति । नालदेहरास्थाने (२२ कि.मी) गाल्फ् क्रीडाङ्गणम् अस्ति । [[चैल्]] नदी पर्वतप्रपाते प्रवहति । प्रास्टेकहिल्स् (५ कि.मी) सूर्यास्तदर्शनाय, चन्द्रोदयदर्शनाय च प्रसिद्धं स्थानमस्ति ।
